I think it was good, but I don't think anything will top Beauty and the Beast or Lilo and Stitch when it comes to emotional impact. However I hope Disney keeps trying! I want more fairy stories in 2-D animation! It's what made Disney great, and I'd like to see them keep up the tradition, and there's plenty of interesting stories to go around.
Even though it had a death scene, it didn't have the impact that I was hoping for. I suppose it could be because I'm a bit jaded, however Where The Wild Things Are had me in tears nearly through the whole thing, so I don't think I'm THAT jaded.
The title is misleading. She is not a princess at the beginning, but a hard working waitress who would like to own her own restaurant some day. They had a little paper crown on her as a child and it makes me wonder if they put it there after those parts were completed to appease the controversy surrounding this film.
I think that the characters were fun, the bad guys were scary and the jokes were very silly, and it's a good addition to the Disney collection. I enjoyed it a lot.
